Using technology it bills as “disruptive intelligence,” LogicMonitor has announced a new release of its SaaS-based solution. The enhanced offering is designed to offer customers an easy framework for collecting data beyond CPU, memory and disk usage.
The new features aim to help businesses avoid outages as well as extract more actionable data from their technology infrastructures through a simple-to-use monitoring tool. The company’s hosted monitoring solutions are designed for physical, virtual and cloud-based IT environments.
The new release of LogicMonitor’s SaaS-based solution enhances its built-in monitoring, historical trending, proactive alerting and reporting features for critical infrastructure. This can include networking gear, servers, applications, databases, virtual and cloud infrastructures and storage.
New features include geographic host mapping, which aims to make management easier for companies with devices in multiple locations. This is also useful for service providers responsible for maintaining equipment at multiple customer locations. Users are able to see where a host is physically located by launching its Google map location.
The release also offers built-in support for a number of third-party devices, including routers from Juniper and Extreme, Fortinet firewalls, and Redis and Zookeeper databases. Datasources built-in software for technology monitoring is key to making the solution easy to use. It also features four new data sources to expand a library of hundreds of technology products for which it provides automated monitoring. By entering an IP address, the solution detects the type of device and applies monitoring templates to begin collecting and graphing data within a customer portal.
The solution also offers a beta for external website monitoring to service multiple locations. This includes synthetic monitoring, which enables administrators to define multiple steps to monitor.
“We’re providing operations, development teams, and business executives with intelligence to make smarter decisions about their applications, their customers, and the core of their business,” said LogicMonitor CEO, Kevin McGibben. “Our customers are not only using LogicMonitor to proactively monitor technology infrastructure performance — but to measure and monitor the operational performance of their business.”
