In just two short weeks, more than 28,000 techies will descend on Sin City for one of the biggest events of the year: Cisco Live. This show brings people together from all over the world and provides an environment where attendees can learn from each other, share war stories, and check out new technologies and services that can help them better perform their jobs.
If you’re attending for the first time or returning to the trade show scene after a hiatus, let me give you some pro-tips to consider before you arrive:
Comfortable shoes are a must. I’m serious. You will be doing a lot of walking between sessions, visiting (and re-visiting) us at Booth #919, and likely some more power-walking from the venue to your hotel room to escape the heat outside.
Take notes. If you’re attending sessions and doing it right, you’re going to be fed an enormous amount of information. No matter what topic you’re most interested in, the sessions catalog is extensive, with talks on Cloud, Datacenter, Enterprise Networks, and more. One session you can’t miss is with our CEO, Kevin McGibben. He’ll be talking about how Enterprises leverage SaaS products to stay ahead of the game and disrupt their respective markets. Check it out here and add it to your Tuesday schedule.
Hydrate while you dehydrate. Cisco Live definitely doesn’t end after the last session of the day and the expo hall closes. You can expect happy hours and after-parties nightly (including this one hosted by LogicMonitor at TopGolf). Bring a water bottle or grab one from a vendor if they’re giving them away as swag. You’ll thank me later.
Stay charged. Days are long at trade shows. Really long. Bring a portable battery pack or charge up when you can because, as mentioned in the previous point, you have a long night ahead of you.
Pack an empty suitcase. There are over 300 vendors at the show and everyone is going to want to give you something—us included. I’ll let you be the judge of the coolest swag after you stop by our booth.
Can’t make it to Vegas? The Cisco Live team does a great job of making it easy for you to get involved from home. We’ll update you while we’re there with the #CLUS hashtag on Twitter, but check this page where you can easily create an account and watch thousands of sessions on demand.
Send a note to firstname.lastname@example.org if you’re heading to the show. We’d love to have you stop by Booth #919 and show you how LogicMonitor can help make your day-to-day work a whole lot simpler.
