LogicMonitor has two datasources for monitoring SWF performance metrics:

  1. AWS_SWF_Activity_Type - collects CloudWatch performance data for SWF Activity Types
  2. AWS_SWF_Workflow_Type - collects CloudWatch performance data for SWF Workflow Types

 

AWS_SWF_Activity_Type

Datapoints:

  • ActivityTasksCanceled
  • ActivityTaskScheduleToCloseTime
  • ActivityTaskScheduleToStartTime
  • ActivityTasksCompleted
  • ActivityTasksFailed
  • ActivityTaskStartToCloseTime
  • ScheduledActivityTasksTimedOutOnClose
  • ScheduledActivityTasksTimedOutOnStart
  • StartedActivityTasksTimedOutOnClose
  • StartedActivityTasksTimedOutOnHeartbeat

Default Polling Interval: 2 minute.  Per Amazon, metrics are reported in 1 minute intervals.

Additional Configuration Necessary?: No. This datasource will automatically apply to the SWF Activity resources discovered for your AWS account and start collecting data.

 

AWS_SWF_Workflow_Type

  • DecisionTasksCompleted
  • DecisionTaskStartToCloseTime
  • StartedDecisionTasksTimedOutOnClose
  • WorkflowsCanceled

  • WorkflowsFailed
  • WorkflowStartToCloseTime
  • WorkflowsTerminated
  • WorkflowsTimedOut
