Module Toolbox

The Module Toolbox is your local environment and contains all the LogicModules you have installed (imported from the Module Store). The Module Toolbox lets you customize your installed modules or create new modules to suit the needs of your monitoring environment. You can also manage the versioning of your custom modules and share them with the LogicMonitor user community.

Note: The Module Toolbox is available as part of LM Exchange (Beta). For more information, see LM Exchange (Beta) Overview.

Filtering and Display Options

By default, the modules list displays all the modules you have installed in your portal. Filtering options allow you to quickly search for specific LogicModules by type, tags, keywords, and other options. You can activate the filtering options by selecting them using the funnel icon and its menu.

The following is a description of all the filtering options available on the Module Toolbox:

Using the Details Panel

Click a row in the modules table to open a panel with information about the module.

Viewing Module Details

Depending on the module type and the configuration of the module, the details panel will display different tabs of information.

  • Info–This tab displays the LogicModule name, Locator code, and date it was last updated. You can also find Basic Information (such as Module type, version, and status), and a Description or Technical notes if they are provided.
  • Local History–This tab which shows you the history of versions for the module. The history will include the author, timestamp, and description of the change if it is provided.
  • Other tabs will vary depending on the configurations of the module. For example, you might see tabs for AppliesTo, Active Discovery, Collection, and Datapoint definitions, as well as Graphs and Overview Graphs, if they apply to this module.

Managing Installed Modules

Unlike in the Module Store, this detail panel allows you to edit and delete the module. If there is a newer version of the module available, this view will provide an install option to allow you to import the new version of the LogicModule into your portal. When you edit a LogicModule, you will open the Settings editor for the selected module.
