v.172 Release Notes

Last updated on 27 March, 2024

Highlights

  • Feature Highlights: Expanded coverage for Kubernetes KSM monitoring. EA Collector 32.200 release.
  • General Updates: Added support for new OpenZFS and NetApp ONTAP AWS FSx file systems, tracking for website usage in Account Information, logs collection support to Linux, Docker, and Kubernetes-based OpenTelemetry Collector installations, and more.
  • Updated Monitoring: New modules to monitor Azure Databrick, Azure resource health, and Kubernetes KSM-based jobs, cronjobs, and deployments.

Feature Highlights

Expanded Kubernetes KSM Monitoring

You can now use new Kubernetes monitoring modules that are based on the kubestatemetrics (KSM) service and the Summary API. This improves the performance of the monitoring services by offering a wider coverage. The new modules are prefixed by “Kubernetes_KSM” and replace existing modules for monitoring pods, deployments, and nodes. For more information, see New LogicModules

Recommendation: Install the new modules for enhanced coverage and performance. A sunset plan will be announced for existing modules in an upcoming release.

New Collector Release

EA Collector 32.200 was released on June 27, 2022.

  • This Collector release expands the CyberArk credential vault integration to support CyberArk dual account, eliminating delays such as password rotation that may be encountered when using CyberArk single account.
  • Upgrading to this release will remove all “mongo” settings from agent.conf because MONGO will no longer be supported as a separate collector type. You can still use other collector types, such as SCRIPT, as well as DataSources to monitor MongoDB instances.

For more information, see EA Collector 32.200 Release Notes.

(4 PropertySources)
addCategory_Meraki_API
addERI_Device
addERI_Meraki
addERI_Meraki_Org

(2 TopologySources)
Meraki_Cloud_Topology
Meraki_Org_Topology
Updated modules to use v1 of the Meraki API (except for Cisco_Meraki_Licensing which provides data that is not currently available in v1). Fixed a bad value range in the status datapoint in Cisco_Meraki_UplinkApplianceStatus. Added missing timing variables in the *Interfaces modules.
(1 DataSource)
CiscoQoS-
Improved instances by adding descriptions and new instance properties.
(2 DataSources)
Dell_PowerConnect_Interfaces
SNMP_Network_Interfaces

(1 PropertySource)
addCategory_Dell_PowerConnect
Added a tech note to Dell_PowerConnect_Interfaces to warn that this module will be deprecated in the near future in favor of SNMP_Network_Interfaces. Changed datapoints inOctets and outOctets from counter to derive.
Dell_PowerConnect_Interfaces was initially developed to address discovery-based indexing issues that were seen in PowerConnect environments and caused collection issues where duplicate interface descriptions existed. This has since been addressed in SNMP_Network_Interfaces which also includes stability fixes in larger environments.
To transition from Dell_PowerConnect_Interfaces to SNMP_Network_Interfaces, you should import the latest versions of all 4 modules mentioned in this release so that the proper DataSources are applied. Once SNMP_Network_Interfaces is applied and data collection confirmed, Dell_PowerConnect_Interfaces should be disabled. For more information, see Disabling Monitoring for a DataSource.
(8 DataSources)
EMC_DiskPerformance_NaviSecCli
EMC_EnclosureEnvironment_NaviSecCli
EMC_FastCache_NaviSecCli
EMC_SPCache_NaviSecCli

EMC_SPStatus_NaviSecCli
EMC_StoragePool_NaviSecCli
EMC_SystemPower_NaviSecCli
Updated appliesTo for EMC_FastCache_NaviSecCli and EMC_SPCache_NaviSecCli using new property. A fallback has been added to ensure that devices that have not had the new PropertySource run on them will not experience historical data loss when updating. Additional updates to bring all modules in package to current standards.
