FAQs
How do platform packages support Autonomous IT?
Platform packages give organizations a path to bring observability, intelligence, and governed action together as their operational needs evolve. LogicMonitor provides the hybrid observability foundation across infrastructure, cloud, and other critical systems, while Edwin AI adds intelligence and automation capabilities that help teams detect, diagnose, prioritize, and act on operational issues. This allows organizations to expand their use of AI and automation while maintaining the visibility and control required for their environment.
Why does LogicMonitor use platform packages?
LogicMonitor’s platform packages give organizations a flexible way to adopt and scale the capabilities they need as they move toward Autonomous IT. Rather than licensing individual products separately, packages bring together capabilities across hybrid observability, AI, and automation with predictable pricing. LM Essentials, LM Advanced, and LM Signature Plus Edwin AI support different operational needs, with Edwin AI available to extend event intelligence and automation capabilities. As your environment changes, Hybrid Units give you flexibility to shift monitoring capacity across on-premises, cloud, and edge resources without changing your licensing model.
What are platform packages?
Platform packages are LogicMonitor’s standard packaging and pricing model. They bundle platform capabilities and services at an inclusive price, with pricing based on Hybrid Units. This gives organizations a predictable way to purchase LogicMonitor while choosing the level of observability, intelligence, and automation that fits their operational needs.
Contact salesWhat is a Hybrid Unit?
A Hybrid Unit is LogicMonitor’s flexible licensing unit for monitoring different resource types across hybrid environments. Instead of requiring separate licensing models for on-premises, cloud IaaS, cloud PaaS, and wireless access points, Hybrid Units provide a common way to allocate monitoring capacity as your environment changes.
One Hybrid Unit is equivalent to one on-prem collector monitored device, one cloud IaaS, seven cloud PaaS, or five wireless access points. Your account team will be able to estimate the amount of Hybrid Units that will be appropriate for your organization.
Who can purchase platform packages?
Platform packages are available to new LogicMonitor customers and existing customers.
How are Catchpoint capabilities available through LogicMonitor?
Catchpoint capabilities are available from LogicMonitor as LM Synthetics and Internet Performance, LM Real User Monitoring with Session Replay, and LM Endpoint Monitoring. These capabilities are not currently included in the LM Essentials, LM Advanced, or LM Signature Plus Edwin AI platform packages. They can be added to a LogicMonitor package or purchased separately based on your organization’s needs. Contact LogicMonitor for pricing and to determine the right combination of capabilities for your environment.
Can I add capabilities without changing my platform package?
Yes. Additional capabilities and capacity are available as add-ons, depending on your package and requirements. This gives you flexibility to expand capabilities as your environment and operational needs change without necessarily moving to a different platform package.
Does this apply to Managed Service Providers (MSPs)?
Yes. Platform packages are available to MSPs and provide flexibility to support changing resource requirements across customer environments. MSPs may also have access to product-by-product pricing based on their needs. Contact your LogicMonitor account team to discuss the best option for your organization.
Is my current contract going to change?
Your existing contract remains in effect for its current term. If you’re on a different LogicMonitor pricing model, your account team can review platform package options with you as part of your renewal. Moving to a platform package is not required before the end of your current agreement.
Do usage limits apply?
Each platform package includes defined capacity, limits, and retention based on the capabilities included in that package. Additional capacity is available where needed, so you don’t necessarily need to move to another package as usage grows. Contact your account team for details based on your environment and requirements.
How do I know which package is right for my team?
The right package depends on your environment, operational needs, and how you want to use observability, AI, and automation. The package comparison above shows the capabilities included with LM Essentials, LM Advanced, and LM Signature Plus Edwin AI. Your LogicMonitor sales representative or account team can also help you evaluate the right fit and plan for future needs.
Are discounts available?
Potentially, yes. Please connect with your account team to discuss available discounts.
Are there limits for who can purchase LM Essentials?
LM Essentials is designed for organizations that need core LogicMonitor platform capabilities and is available for deployments of up to 999 Hybrid Units. Organizations requiring 1,000 or more Hybrid Units will need to select a different package.
