Interviewing tips

Tip #1

Tailor your resume to the job you are applying for. Look over the job description and make sure you include all of your experience relevant to the role. When listing out your experience in each position, focus on accomplishments and achievements rather than responsibilities.

Tip #2

Test your technology and make sure you have a good internet connection. You can test your video and audio here before your scheduled call.

Tip #3

Choose your setting wisely. Find a quiet place where you will not be distracted. Check out your background and make sure you have good lighting so your interviewer can see you.

Tip #4

Learn about LM! Explore our website, review the job description, and come ready with your informed questions. Don’t be afraid to look up team members on LinkedIn to see their background or any shared connections.

Tip #5

Practice your answers to common interview questions. Be prepared with examples of your work and be able to tie your answers back to your skills and accomplishments. We recognize that nobody is perfect. We are looking for people who can draw from their past experiences and apply that to their work going forward. At LM we strive to be #bettereveryday, so we want to hear about your mistakes, because that is where growth happens.

Tip #6

If you need clarification about anything through the interview process, let us know. We have a transparent interview process and want to set you up for success. We encourage you to reach out to your recruiting team with any questions you may have.

Tip #7

Relax, and remember that you are not a robot, and everything may not go to plan. If your cat jumps into frame, or your neighbors start mowing the lawn, use your #agility to make it work!

Tip #8

We want to hear from you! Follow-up with your recruiter after your interview to tell them how it went, ask any questions you thought of afterward, and send a thank-you note to pass along to the interview team.

Frequently asked questions

Can I still apply for a role if I do not meet all of the requirements?

Yes! We find job seekers tend to be nervous about applying for a role if they don’t feel they meet every single requirement. If you are excited about a role but your experience doesn’t perfectly align, we encourage you to apply anyway! You might be exactly what we are looking for, or you could be a candidate for another role. Our Talent team partners with candidates to keep their best interest at heart, and is dedicated to opening the doors of opportunity for everyone. We’re committed to creating an environment where different perspectives are valued and encouraged. Celebrating our differences is how we ensure a sense of belongingness and inclusion for all LMers.

I know a current LMer, can they refer me?

Yes. If you have a friend or strong network connection at LogicMonitor, connect with them to share your resume and the role you are interested in. From there, they can submit your application as a referral to our Talent team.

Do you offer sponsorship for overseas candidates?

In limited cases, LogicMonitor may be able to support certain types of sponsorship. Please check with your recruiter for more details.

Do I need to include a cover letter with my application?

Cover letters are optional; however if you have special skills or circumstances that are not clear on your resume, a cover letter can be a great supplement to give a holistic picture of your experience.

Are interviews conducted in person or virtually?

Our interviews are typically held over zoom, we find this is the best way to schedule around busy calendars. In-person interviews may be possible for local candidates.

I’ve submitted my application. What’s next?

If your application is moving forward, a recruiter will be in touch to discuss next steps.

Does LM provide professional development opportunities?

Yes – LogicMonitor offers an annual personal professional development fund to all employees. This can be used for conferences, webinars, books, or certifications that will help further your career.

How does LM support work/life balance?

Our biggest strength at LogicMonitor is our LMers! Our culture is built on creating a safe and supportive environment where you can bring your whole self to work. Check out our diversity and culture page for more information.

If I’m not selected for a role, can I re-apply for other roles?

If at any time you see another role you are interested in, you are welcome to apply. We keep your information in our system to consider you for future opportunities as well. See more information regarding our data retention policy here.
