Edge computing has been the buzzword of the decade. Everyone is talking about pushing intelligence closer to the edge, but most of that intelligence still needs a map and a flashlight.

This week, CRN named LogicMonitor to its 2025 Edge Computing 100, recognizing companies that are actually doing something useful at the edge instead of just hyping it.

We are honored. We are also a little amused. Because while others are still running PowerPoints about what “edge observability” might look like, we’re already out there helping teams turn chaos into clarity across thousands of distributed devices, locations, and users.

For us, the edge is not a trend. It is where digital experiences either deliver or die trying. And if you’ve ever tried to troubleshoot a site that’s 2,000 miles away with no local staff and no visibility, you know: it’s not the wild west. It’s worse. Until you can actually see it.

Seeing the Unseen Edge

Our customers are the ones proving what “smart edge” really means.

One global energy company uses LogicMonitor Envision to watch over drilling infrastructure scattered across some of the most remote places on earth. When servers started overheating and shutting down production, they used LM Envision’s environmental monitoring to spot the thermal spikes before anything melted. Downtime dropped, production rose, and the edge went from fragile to fearless.

A managed service provider runs AI, 5G, and IoT connectivity for hospitals, schools, and manufacturing sites. They consolidated five monitoring tools into one platform and, with that, finally gained real-time visibility into every edge device powering their customers’ operations. Less noise. More insight. More sleep.

And one national bank turned branch downtime from a full-day event into a one-hour hiccup. With 140+ branches and back offices now visible through LM Envision, their IT team doesn’t wait for calls from the field. They fix issues before the doors even open.

These customers are proof that observability at the edge isn’t hypothetical. It’s happening. Every day.

The Edge Needs More Than Sensors

The industry loves to talk about data collection, latency, and connectivity, but the edge doesn’t just need data. It needs context.

You can have a thousand sensors screaming for attention and still have no idea what’s actually wrong. That’s why our approach to observability goes beyond metrics. LM Envision correlates events, logs, traces, and alerts into one clear picture, so IT teams don’t waste hours chasing symptoms while the root cause hides in plain sight.

Less Watching, More Knowing

Recognition from CRN is great. But the real story is about the teams keeping the lights on in places most people never think about.

They’re running smart factories where every second of uptime counts. Banking networks that stretch across entire regions. Oil fields, campuses, clinics, and data centers that live at the very edge of what’s possible.

And every one of them has the same mission: make the edge work as hard as the cloud.

We just help them see it coming by continuing to push observability out to wherever innovation happens. With Edwin AI learning from billions of data points, and automation handling the noise before humans ever need to, we’re not just watching systems anymore. We’re helping them heal themselves.

So yes, thank you, CRN. We will take the nod, but the real win is for every engineer, every operator, and every customer who’s turned the edge from a liability into a competitive advantage.

The edge got smarter. And we’re not done yet.
