AWS re:Invent 2023 recap: Top highlights and takeaways

LogicMonitor spent the week in Las Vegas at AWS re:Invent 2023. With over 50,000 attendees, it was packed with groundbreaking keynote sessions, networking events, and so much more.

One major announcement during the event was AWS Marketplace’s Quick Launch. Made to easily deploy SaaS products, interested users can easily buy and deploy LogicMonitor straight from the AWS Marketplace.

In addition to making LogicMonitor setups effortless, Amazon announced new generative AI features in Amazon Connect, including Amazon Q, to facilitate improved contact center service. The release of Amazon Q provides specific and tailored generative AI implementation that would help create bespoke chatbots that benefit the LM user.

These announcements demonstrate that AI is here to stay and automation continues to be a primary goal for end-users.

From the slew of announcements made at re:Invent, it is great to see that AWS is continuously evolving its cloud infrastructure services and contributing to the widespread adoption of AI. Many LogicMonitor clients use LM to monitor their AWS accounts and underlying services. We look forward to seeing how Amazon Q transforms enterprise operations and we’re excited for Quick Launch to bring easier access to LogicMonitor’s hybrid multi-cloud observability solution for those in the midst of their cloud migration journey.Chris Kline, Head of Sales Specialists, Cloud & Observability, LogicMonitor

Session highlights

Topgolf mitigated migration risk & elevated uptime with LogicMonitor

Our team presented key insights around mitigating cloud migration risks, elevating systems uptime, and pushing the boundaries of observability.

Key Takeaway: Cloud has been around for decades, yet, realistically, most companies are in earlier stages of the cloud journey: migration and innovation.

This means most enterprises have an infrastructure model that is a diverse and complex mix of on-prem and cloud technologies. This mix of tech requires deep visibility and availability for optimal performance and proactive problem resolution.

Organizations have long had multiple monitoring tools to provide this visibility across on-prem and cloud. But now companies using LogicMonitor can consolidate their disparate tools into one—saving time, energy and costs.

Our session will be available on-demand soon!

Innovation Talk: Cloud Operations for today, tomorrow, and beyond

Nandini Ramani, the host of the session and VP of Monitoring and Observability at AWS, peeled back the curtains on emerging CloudOps trends. The session included guest speakers from J.P. Morgan Chase and The Walt Disney Company.

Key Takeaway: This session emphasized the importance of CloudOps and having the right setup and governance in place as the technology continuously evolves. Ramani commented on the need for full observability so teams can take actions quickly and reduce MTTR, leading to great end user experiences.

Attendees were asked about their primary goal of CloudOps. The results were close: 37% said their goal with CloudOps is to improve resilience and performance while 35% said their goal is to automate operations.
