LogicMonitor Synthetics and Internet Performance Monitoring gives ITOps teams a more modern way to proactively test applications, APIs, websites, and critical user journeys across the internet stack. Moving LogicMonitor Synthetics forward
As part of this shift, LogicMonitor will be retiring the LM APM Synthetics (SYN) product and standardizing synthetic monitoring with stronger capabilities on the LogicMonitor Synthetics and Internet Performance Monitoring product.
LM APM Synthetics reached the End of Quote on August 3, 2026 and will reach End of Sale on September 15, 2026. Existing customers will continue to receive support during the transition period, with the legacy product reaching End of Life (EOL) on May 31, 2027. These milestones are also reflected in product transition planning.
This isn’t simply a replacement for an older synthetic monitoring capability. It gives LogicMonitor customers a broader way to understand performance from the perspective that ultimately matters: the user.
The former LM APM Synthetics product relied on LogicMonitor Collectors and Selenium-based architecture. The enhanced LogicMonitor Synthetics product expands that model to over 3,500 global test locations where you host – and where your users live, work, and play – broader test types, and richer diagnostics for understanding exactly where a transaction starts to slow down or fail.
Go beyond “is it up?”
Traditional availability checks answer an important question: Is this service responding?
But modern applications have too many dependencies for that to be the only question.
A single user transaction can cross your application, cloud infrastructure, APIs, DNS, CDN, ISP, SaaS provider, and other third-party services before reaching the user. When something goes wrong, your team needs to know not only that the transaction failed, but where and why it failed.

That outside-in view is increasingly important as applications move beyond infrastructure that IT directly controls.
Your infrastructure may be performing normally while a CDN has an issue. Your SaaS provider may be available while a regional ISP is degrading the employee experience. An API dependency may add latency to an otherwise healthy application.

LogicMonitor Synthetics provides deeper transaction visibility, including filmstrips and playback that can show where a user journey breaks. Broader API, browser, and network testing also helps teams investigate dependencies beyond the application itself.

If you’re currently using LM APM Synthetics, you have time to plan your transition.
Existing customers will continue to receive support through the transition period. LogicMonitor teams can provide transition planning, training, and enablement resources as you move your synthetic tests to the new platform. Historical SYN data will not migrate, so that should be considered as part of your transition plan.
The product mapping is also designed around familiar use cases. Existing LM Synthetics tests map to Real Browser Testing options, including Playwright/Puppeteer for multistep journeys and web-browser testing for single URLs.
More importantly, this is an opportunity to look beyond simply recreating the tests you already have.
Consider where global testing could expose regional performance problems you can’t see today. Identify business-critical transactions that would benefit from full user journey testing. Look at APIs and third-party services that sit outside your infrastructure but have a direct impact on your users.
The goal isn’t just to move your existing monitors. It’s to come out of the transition with better visibility.
