Announcing LM Config™: Configuration Management from LogicMonitor is Here

LogicMonitor is excited to announce the release of LM Config! LM Config lets users add device configuration monitoring and management to the existing LogicMonitor platform. Configuration management has been increasingly recognized as a major challenge facing the modern technology organization, particularly as network architectures become more distributed.

With LM Config, users can automatically detect, monitor, and alert on configuration files for a growing number of devices.

We’ve received great feedback from our beta testers, including enterprise-grade service providers like iVision and Security7, as well as internal IT teams from organizations like Loyola University Maryland and KLA-Tencor. We’ve made some great improvements since the process began and we’re excited to add LM Config to our growing list of products.

So, why use LM Config for your configuration management? Obviously, it’s a great way to consolidate tools. No more hopping from one vendor-specific configuration tool to another and back to LogicMonitor. Beyond time- and cost-savings, having configurations and performance metrics in the same platform lets you correlate device performance with configuration changes. See a graph spike next to a configuration change for the same device? Restore the configuration and move on without having to work your way down a long list of possible causes.

LM Config also lets enterprises and service providers maintain consistency and compliance within their ever-more-distributed environments. By alerting on configuration changes the same way we alert on performance metrics, LM Config helps keep standards and best practices in place and speeds up root cause analysis in an outage. Beyond identifying the cause, LM Config makes restoring device configurations as easy as uploading a saved .conf file to a device. One of our beta users described LM Config as a “great safety net” for their business and their customers.
