Devices

Using the Devices Page

The Devices Page (Tab) of your LogicMonitor account is where you manage all devices being monitored. If you haven't added any devices to your account yet, see the Adding & Managing Devices documentation for instructions on adding devices to be monitored. If you already have devices in your account, read on for an overview of what you can do from the Devices Page (Tab) in your account.

Functionality

There are three main components to the Devices Page:

  1. Device Tree
  2. Detail Panel (reflects the selected item in the device tree)
  3. Toolbar Functions
Functionality

1. Device Tree

  • Use the device tree to efficiently navigate through and search for device groups, devices, device datasources and instances in your account.
  • Use the compare panel to quickly click between and compare different devices, device groups, device datasource or instances in your account.
  • Add devices and device groups with the 'Add' button in the device tree.
  • Use the arrow at the top right of the device tree to collapse/expand the tree.

2. Detail Panel

When you select an item from the device tree, the name and icon of the item selected will be displayed at the top of the detail panel. The breadcrumb and description for the item selected will be displayed beneath the name.  Not sure what the different items in the device tree are or what the icons mean? Read our device tree documentation first.

Different tabs will be displayed in the detail panel depending on what type of item you've selected (group, device, datasource or instance), with the exception of a couple of tabs displayed for all selected items.
