Edwin AI Roles and Users
Last updated - 31 March, 2026
Edwin AI leverages LogicMonitor’s role-based access control framework to drive views and permissions. For information on roles and users in LogicMonitor, see Users and Roles.
Key components of the permission model:
- Roles: Sets of permissions determining how a user can interact with Edwin AI.
- Users: Inherit permissions through their Role membership.
The following permissions are available for Edwin AI:
- Configuration: The user with this role can configure dashboards, models, rules, and actions.
- Dashboards and Alerts:
- View: Users with this role to view can view Edwin AI dashboards and alerts.
- Manage: Users with this role to manage can create dashboards, models, and alerts.
- Integration: The user with this role can work on integration with other platforms for data exchange and incident management.

Record-level Permissions in Edwin AI
Edwin AI also leverages LogicMonitor’s role-based access to determine record-level permissions that determines if a user sees an Event, Alert, or Insight record. For more information on how to control resource permissions in LogicMonitor, see Resources Role Permissions.
Access is determined by your resource permissions in LogicMonitor that are associated with your role. Edwin AI pulls the list of resources that are associated with the Resource Groups your user has access to in order to evaluate whether you should see a record within Edwin AI. For Insights, if you do not have access to all associated resources, then you will not see the Insight.
Changes to user permissions or resource group assignments are applied immediately in Edwin AI. Insights can therefore appear or disappear automatically as access changes; no refresh or reconfiguration is needed.
This also extends to API credentials as well. When a user generates a new set of API credentials within Edwin AI, the same restrictions will apply.
