The HP MSA package allows you to monitor your Hewlet-Packard (HP) storage devices; including HP Modular Smart Array (MSA), StorageWorks, and P2000.
To monitor your HP MSA, StorageWorks, or P2000 devices, you’ll need to complete the following sections to enable SNMP, configure a user for the XML API, and add the user’s credentials on the HP MSA resource within LogicMonitor.
Use the command line to enable the SNMP agent:
set snmp enabled
set snmp-parameters read-community your-community-string
Configure the XML API User
Run the following on the command line:
create user base 2 interfaces wbi roles monitor logicmonitor
Add User Credentials to Resource
After you create the user and password for the XML API user, set the following properties on the HP MSA resource within LogicMonitor. (For instructions on setting properties, see Resource and Instance Properties.
|XML API username.|
|XML API password.|
|Protocol to connect to the API. Set “true” to use HTTPS. Set “false” to use HTTP.|
|msa.sha||(Optional) Set to true to use SHA-256 authentication.|
