Feature Highlights

Access Dismissed Notifications in Notification Center

You can now access the dismissed notifications in your Notification Center. This allows you to interact with notifications that you have previously dismissed. Dismissed notifications remain in the Notification Center in a new Dismissed tab until you delete the notification.

For more information, see Notification Center in the product documentation.

Open Beta Release of AWS Organizational Units

LogicMonitor’s AWS monitoring now supports using AWS Organizational Units to decrease the time it takes to add AWS Accounts to monitoring. This feature is currently in Open Beta.

For more information, see AWS Organizational Unit Monitoring (Beta) in the product documentation.

Multiple Collector Releases

To support various enhancements and bug fixes, the following Collector versions were released after LogicMonitor v.188.

Collector VersionRelease Date
GD Collector 34.00229 June 2023

General Updates

Cloud Monitoring

Enhancements

  • Expanded support for Amazon EventBridge to automatically detect properties from custom event busses (instead of only default event bus rules).
  • Updated the datasources for monitoring Microsoft Azure API Management to account for new and deprecated metrics.
  • Ensure that Microsoft Azure Recovery Services Vaults are only monitored if replication or backup jobs already exist and not just when the vault exist.

Fixed Issues

  • Fixed an issue that caused Microsoft_Azure_VMs to stop polling when there are multiple PercentageCPU datapoints.

Container Monitoring

Enhancements

  • You can now organize the resource tree based on resources by including the parameter and value enableLegacyResourceTree: true in your argus Helm chart values specification.
  • Added Container Monitoring support for AWS EKS Anywhere v1.26.

Integrations

Enhancements

  • Alerts sent to Microsoft Teams are now sent in the time zone the LogicMonitor portal is set to.

Modules

Fixed Issues

  • Fixed an issue with updating SNMP SysOID Maps where they would still show as updatable after updating them.

Security

Fixed Issues

  • Previously, when you used the wizard to add a new device, (such as Linux, network, and other equipment-type devices), the SNMP credentials for the device were added to the root level for the resource. Now, adding devices using the wizard will not update the credentials at the root level.
  • To help when troubleshooting, audit logs now record the details when a device is added into the root resource group using the wizard.

Microsoft is deprecating global and cluster-named init scripts for Databricks, which LogicMonitor currently uses for Databricks monitoring. These scripts will be disabled on September 1, 2023 by Microsoft, at which point LogicMonitor’s existing Databricks integration will cease to work.

Based on the current integration utilization, we will not be replacing the integration in September. Submit your feedback if an out of the box Databricks monitoring is something you need.

Looking Ahead

In this section, you will find announcements about upcoming beta features, updates about ongoing beta features, and information about the end-of-life of existing features.

Deprecation of Microsoft Azure Databricks Monitoring

LogicMonitor deprecated monitoring for Microsoft Azure Databricks. Support will end on 1 September 2023, and this functionality will be removed in a future release. For more information regarding the deprecation, see the Cluster-named and cluster-scoped init script migration notebook documentation from Databricks.

Recommendation: If an out-of-the-box Databricks monitoring solution fits your environment, submit feedback directly in your LogicMonitor portal using the Support Resources. For more information, see Accessing Support Resources in the Product Documentation.

New VMware vSphere 8 Modules

In a future release, LogicMonitor will introduce new modules that support VMware vSphere 8 and replace previous VMware vCenter, ESXi, and vSphere modules in LM Exchange.  Additionally, for vCenter-managed environments, LogicMonitor will provide a new Enhanced Script NetScan to automate onboarding of VMware ESXi Hosts and Virtual Machines as well as their vCenter-defined organizational hierarchy and structure.
