Choosing a Report Type

You can choose from different report types depending on the type of data or trends you want to display. To help you choose, we’ve divided the report types into categories: Alerts, Inventory, Portal, and Metrics.

Alerts

You can use reports on alert data to help reduce the number of alert notifications that your team receives. The following report types display alert data:

  • Alerts Display a list of all alerts that occurred during a given time period.
  • Alert Forecast Forecast which datapoints are likely to go into alert in the next 30 days.
  • Alert SLA Display how long resources were in alert for a given time period.
  • Alert Trends Display the number of alerts that occurred during a given time period for one or more resources or resource groups.
  • Alert Thresholds Display the datapoint thresholds set across multiple resources and where the global thresholds were overridden.

Inventory

You can use inventory reports to review the properties and configurations for the resources that you monitor. The following report types display resource inventory data:

Portal

You can review the usage and activity within your LogicMonitor portal using the following reports:

  • Audit Log Displays a filtered view of audit log entries.
  • Role Displays details for all user roles that have been created in your LogicMonitor portal.
  • User Lists information for user accounts in your LogicMonitor portal.

Metric

You can use metric reports to review specific data that you are monitoring within your portal. The following report types display metric data:

  • Dashboard View and schedule any dashboard as a report.
  • Interface Bandwidth Display for maximum and average values for inbound and outbound throughputs.
  • NetFlow Resource Metric Display the top flows, top source and destination endpoints, and top talkers for NetFlow-enabled devices.
  • Resource Metric Trends Display the minimum, maximum, change, and sum values for any metric available for a resource or resource group.
  • Server CPU Display the minimum, maximum, and average CPU values for one or more resource groups.
  • SLA Calculate the percentage of time that acceptable service levels were maintained for the resources or websites included in the report.
  • Website Overview Displays percentage of time available, time not available, and alert information for each checkpoint for one or more external Web Checks.
