Usage Reporting for Hybrid Resource Units
Last updated - 29 September, 2025
For all LogicMonitor Platform Packages, the underlying unit of measure is a Hybrid Resource unit. The Hybrid Resource unit is a single, flexible measure of consumption that adapts to your environment. Instead of maintaining separate subscriptions for various resources, you can leverage the Hybrid Unit as an interchangeable approach. This gives you the freedom to monitor any hybrid environment while reducing procurement complexity and minimizing overage risks.

A Hybrid Resource unit is equivalent to one of the following:
Hybrid Resource Typer | Hybrid Unit Ratio | Examples |
Collector device | 1 | Virtual machine, server, on-premises resource, firewall, router, switch |
Cloud IaaS instance | 1 | AWS EC2, GCP Compute Engine, Azure VM |
Cloud PaaS resources | 7 | Kubernetes pods, serverless services |
Wireless access points | 5 | Cisco Meraki, HPE Aruba |
You can leverage hybrid unit ratios to translate different resource types into Hybrid Resource Units. For example, seven Cloud PaaS resources normalize to one Hybrid Resource Unit, and five wireless access points normalize to one Hybrid Resource Unit.
The following table displays how different customer environments size into Hybrid Resource Units:
Customer Portal | Collectors | Cloud IaaS | Wireless APs | Cloud PaaS | Total Hybrid Resource Units |
A | 50 | 51 | 0 | 0 | 101 |
B | 0 | 0 | 0 | 7007 | 1001 |
C | 0 | 1000 | 10 | 0 | 1002 |
D | 500 | 100 | 0 | 7 | 601 |
