Shared Dashboard Filter Management

You can apply, map, create, edit, and delete shared dashboard filters to control how data is displayed across dashboards.
Applying a filter updates the dashboard view temporarily, while mapping a filter makes it available to all dashboard users.

Requirements for Shared Dashboard Filter Management
To view and apply shared dashboard filters, you need the following:
- A LogicMonitor user with View permissions for “Shared Filter Groups” in the Dashboards role permissions
- Access to the dashboard
- Access to all resource and instance properties referenced in the filter
To edit, or delete shared dashboard filters, you need the following:
- A LogicMonitor user with Manage permissions for “Shared Filter Groups” in the Dashboards role permissions
To map shared dashboard filters to a dashboard, you need the following:
- A LogicMonitor user with Manage permissions for “Shared Filter Groups” in the Dashboards role permissions
- Access to all resource and instance properties referenced in the filter
Mapping and Moving a Shared Dashboard Filter
- In LogicMonitor, navigate to Dashboards > select a dashboard.
- From the Views dropdown menu, select “Manage Saved Views.”

- In the Manage saved filters panel, locate and select a shared dashboard filter.
You can select more than one.
- To take an action on your selected filter(s), select one of the following from the Actions dropdown menu:
- To map the selected filter(s) to a dashboard, select “Map from dashboard.”
- To unmap the selected filter(s) from a dashboard, select “Unmap from dashboard.”
- To move the selected filter(s) to a different dashboard, select “Move.”

The dashboard updates dynamically based on the selected filter.
Saving a Shared Dashboard Filter to a Dashboard
- In LogicMonitor, navigate to Dashboards > select a dashboard.
- From the Views dropdown menu, select an existing shared dashboard filter.

- To save the filter, select Save, and do one of the following:
- To save the shared filter as a new filter, select Save as new view.
- To save an update to an existing filter, select Update.
- To create a new shared default filter and save it, select Set as default filter, and then select Confirm when prompted.

The filter is saved as part of the dashboard configuration.
Editing or Updating a Shared Dashboard Filter
- In LogicMonitor, navigate to Dashboards > select a dashboard.
- From the Views dropdown menu, locate and select an existing shared dashboard filter > and select Edit.

- Edit the shared dashboard filter.

Confirm the “shared” option is selected from Group type dropdown menu.
The shared dashboard filter is updated.
