In an Action Chain, you can define stages of automated actions that include both DiagnosticSources and RemediationSources. Each Action Chain is associated with an Action rule. When alerts match the conditions specified in an Action rule, the Action chains run to diagnose and remediate the issue.

Action Chains Considerations

  • An Action chain can consist of one or two stages.
  • Each stage can contain either a DiagnosticSource or a RemediationSource.
  • You can configure the stages in one of the following ways:
    • DiagnosticSource followed by a RemediationSource
    • RemediationSource followed by a DiagnosticSource
    • DiagnosticSources only
    • RemediationSources only
  • DiagnosticSources and RemediationSources run only when the AppliesTo criteria defined in their respective modules match the resource that triggered the alert.
