Cisco HyperFlex: Expanded Coverage from LogicMonitor

Cisco HyperFlex: Expanded Coverage from LogicMonitor

LogicMonitor is expanding its Cisco platform coverage by releasing new Cisco HyperFlex LogicModules. Hyperflex is Cisco’s hyper-converged infrastructure (HCI) platform. This platform is designed to tightly integrate storage, network, and virtualization for ease of use and efficient scalability. With LogicMonitor’s Cisco HyperFlex package, which leverages the Cisco HyperFlex REST API, you can monitor a large number of HyperFlex operations. These new LogicModules will provide insight into your Hypervisor Controller, cluster health, datastores, nodes, and job information, to closely monitor the Cisco environment alongside your physical, virtual, and cloud resources.

More Data = Better Forecasting

With the Hypervisor Controller data, you can be assured that your Virtual Machines are running correctly and supplement the information that you may already be collecting from other virtualization DataSources such as VMware or Hyper-V. All this data is now under one tool and can be used for root cause analysis, auditing, and capacity planning.

Side by side metrics of the same resource but from different DataSources. Note: Keep in mind that DataSources collect metrics at different intervals so choose the most appropriate for your use case.

Track your Jobs

Some of the metrics in the Cisco HyperFlex Jobs DataSource include category, completion percentage, time elapsed, and steps required. These are useful metrics to keep in a dashboard for quick reference and daily reports. As you track the time elapsed metric for a few days, you can then create an appropriate alert threshold that can trigger an alarm in case the job gets stuck.
Our dedicated Monitoring Engineering team is poised to Level Up their game in 2020. Expect some other big Cisco-coverage releases, including greatly improved monitoring for Unified Computing System (UCS), Identity Services Engine (ISE), and Wireless LAN Controller (WLC), including Topology coverage!
