    Infoblox Monitoring

    Overview

    ​Infoblox is a DDI (DNS, DHCP and IPAM) platform. Using LogicMonitor’s Infoblox package, you can monitor the appliance’s CPU usage, DNS metrics, network services status, and more.

    Setup Requirements

    SNMP Enabled

    LogicMonitor uses SNMP to query Infoblox appliances for metrics. SNMP must be configured on the Infoblox appliance, which supports SNMPv1, SNMPv2, and SNMPv3. See Infoblox’s Multi-Grid Manager Administrator Guide for SNMP configuration instructions.

    SNMP Credentials

    LogicMonitor must provide the appropriate SNMP credentials in order to successfully access the resource. This requires setting these credentials as properties on the Infoblox host within the LogicMonitor interface. As discussed in LogicMonitor’s Defining Authentication Credentials support article, the SNMP properties that must be set vary depending upon the version of SNMP in use.

    LogicModules in Package

    LogicMonitor’s package for Infoblox consists of the following LogicModules. Please ensure that all of these LogicModules are imported into your LogicMonitor platform.

    NOTE: Ensure you have the most current SNMP SysOID Maps imported in order for LogicMonitor to automatically identify and tag your device.

    Infoblox DHCPv4 DDNS Statistics DataSource Monitors DHCPv4 DDNS statistics on Infoblox devices using SNMP.
    Infoblox DHCPv4 Statistics DataSource Gathers DHCPv4 statistics from Infoblox devices using SNMP.
    Infoblox DHCPv4 Subnets DataSource Monitors DHCPv4 subnet usage on Infoblox devices using SNMP.
    Infoblox Disk DataSource Gathers disk usage for Infoblox devices using SNMP.
    Infoblox DNS Zone Statistics DataSource Gathers DNS statistics from Infoblox devices using SNMP.
    Infoblox Fans DataSource Gathers fan RPMs on Infoblox devices using SNMP.
    Infoblox Memory DataSource Gather system memory and swap space usage on Infoblox devices using SNMP.
    Infoblox Network Services Status DataSource Monitors the operating state of individual network services using SNMP.
    Infoblox Node Status DataSource Monitors the operating state of network services on their specified node using SNMP.
    Infoblox Replication Status DataSource Gather replication information from Infoblox devices using SNMP.
    Infoblox Temperature DataSource Monitors system and CPU temperature on Infoblox devices using SNMP.

    When setting alert thresholds on the various metrics tracked by this package, LogicMonitor follows the technology owner’s best practice KPI recommendations. If necessary, we encourage you to adjust these predefined thresholds to meet the unique needs of your environment.
