Alerts Tab

The Alerts Tab for a group, device, datasource or instance provides a filtered view of the alerts page.  It is prefiltered to display active alerts only for the selected entity (group, device, datasource or instance).

You can filter, search, and sort the alerts displayed to narrow the view to the alerts you are most concerned with.  A count of active alerts will display next to the Alerts tab header.

1. Last Update

LogicMonitor typically refreshes every minute, but a browser or network issue can cause this to be delayed. The last updated time gives you confidence you are viewing the most recent alerts.

2. Search

The search field will return matches on severity, time, device information, and any other alert details.

3. Settings

Select Settings to change the number of alerts displayed, the size of the font used in the table, or the types and order of columns displayed.

Add Custom Columns

This field allows you to add custom columns  to the Alerts Table that display system properties, autoproperties, and/or LM tokens. Simply start typing the name of the property you want added and the field will auto-generate available search results.

Note that any properties containing .pass, .accesskey, .auth, or .key will be obfuscated in the alerts table. SNMP. [community | privtoken | authtoken] will all be obfuscated, as well.

Filters

Alerts are automatically filtered by the item selected in the device tree.  You can further filter the list by specific Datasources, Instances, or Datapoints.

Once you begin typing in a filter field, matching values will display.  More than one value can be selected for each filter.  Glob expressions are supported.

Filters

Selecting More in the filter menu will allow you to filter by:

  • Alert Rule:  The alert rule that generated a notification, if any.
  • Escalation Chain:  The escalation chain that received the notification, if any.
  • Severity:  The current severity of the alert.
  • Acknowledged:  Filter by acknowledged or unacknowledged alerts.
  • In SDT:  If the instance that generated an active alert is currently in scheduled down time.
  • Cleared:  Filter based on cleared (alert history) or active alerts.  Only active display by default.

Note: if, in alerts tab, SDT is set to "yes" or "no," only active alerts will show.

Sort

The Began, Device, Datasource, Instance, and Datapoint columns in the Alerts table can be sorted by clicking the column header.
