Data Retention

LogicMonitor stores every collected time-series data sample for the retention period defined in your service agreement (3 months to 2+ years). Retention periods for other data types vary.

LogicMonitor preserves full data resolution for forensic analysis of recent issues. To improve readability over longer time periods, widgets and graphs display aggregated data. You can zoom in on graphs to view granular historical data.

Retention Periods by Data Type

In addition to time-series data, LogicMonitor retains the following data types for the periods shown:

Alert history30 days to 2 years, depending on your LogicMonitor plan.
Note: The maximum 2-year retention period applies only to cleared alerts.
Audit LogSame retention period as alert history defined by your LogicMonitor plan.
Trace data45 days
Collector event history7 days
Deleted instance history30 days

If the instance is rediscovered or added again within that period, its history is restored.
Resource historyPermanently removed when the resource is deleted.
DataSource historyPermanently removed when the DataSource is no longer associated with the resource.
