Release Note

Container Monitoring 13.1.0

Feature Highlights

  • Updates to Credential Validation and KSM URL Management in Helm Deployments
  • KSM Version Upgrade to 7.2.2 in lm-container Helm Charts
  • Upgraded grpc_health_probe Library to 0.4.48
Enhancement

Updates to Credential Validation and KSM URL Management in Helm Charts

Updated the lm-container Helm chart to remove patch jobs previously used for credential validation and KSM URL management in Argus. Configuration is now handled directly within Helm templates, aligning with the declarative deployment model and improving stability across automation tools.

Important: The patchJob parameter is removed from the Helm Chart schema. Do not use the --reuse-values parameter while performing Helm upgrade, as this may cause the upgrade to fail.

Configuration errors now display directly in affected components, enabling improved visibility and easier troubleshooting.

Enhancement

KSM Version Upgrade to 7.2.2 in lm-container Helm Charts

The lm-container Helm charts now use kube-state-metrics (KSM) version 7.2.2 providing compatibility with newer Kubernetes versions.

Enhancement

Upgraded grpc_health_probe Library to 0.4.48

The grpc_health_probe library is now updated to version 0.4.48 to address vulnerabilities and improve security compliance for Kubernetes environments.

Enhancement

Added Security Updates

LogicMonitor has added security updates to the internal components of LM Container.

Deprecation

End of Life (EOL) for Legacy Versions 5, 6, 7, and 8 for LM Container and Argus

In a future release of LogicMonitor, support for legacy LM Container builds and Argus versions 5, 6, 7, and 8 will be discontinued. If you are running these versions, you must upgrade to a supported LM Container release to continue receiving updates and support.

The latest LM Container releases provide:

  • Improved monitoring accuracy through updated and actively maintained code paths
  • Latest security patches and compliance updates for modern Kubernetes environments
  • Ongoing compatibility with newer Kubernetes versions and container runtimes

Recommendation:

  • For LM Container installations running Argus version 8 or later, use the LM Upgrade Wizard or the CLI to complete the upgrade.
  • For Argus version 7 or earlier, migrate these deployments to LM Container before upgrading. You can migrate existing Kubernetes cluster configurations using Helm or without Helm.

For more information, see: Migrating Existing Configurations Using Helm and Migrating Existing Configuration Without Using Helm

Note: This change does not affect SKUs or pricing, and upgrading does not result in a loss of existing monitoring capabilities.

For more information about this deprecation, including timeline and further updates about the removal, see Upcoming End of Life (EOL) for Legacy Versions 5, 6, 7, and 8 for Legacy LM Container & Argus in the LM Community.

If you have any questions or need assistance during the migration, contact the
Support team or your Customer Success Manager.

Resolved Issue

Fixed an issue that caused false alerts when Kubernetes nodes were cordoned (unschedulable). The system now disables the Ping DataSource for cordoned nodes and re-enables it when nodes are uncordoned.

Resolved Issue

Fixed an issue that caused Argus cache inconsistencies, which prevented some devices from being added to the portal and resulted in stale resources remaining after deletion. In some cases, duplicate display names caused resource addition failures, cache sync issues, and “No Data” alerts for deleted pods.

Resolved Issue

Fixed an issue that prevented XL and XXL Docker collectors from installing when using GD or MGD versions with the useEA flag disabled. XL and XXL collectors now install and function correctly without requiring the useEA flag, ensuring a more consistent and reliable deployment experience.
