Feature Highlight

  • Fixed GD Collector 39.001 Upgrade Issue

Note: GD Collector 39.002 supports all Automated Diagnostic capabilities.

LogicMonitor GD Collector 39.002 will be released on February 09, 2026. It is based on GD Collector 39.001 and includes the following resolved issue:

Resolved Issue

Fixed a Collector upgrade issue that resulted in failure when upgrading Windows Collectors to GD Collector 39.001. The fix replaces the deprecated UseConcMarkSweepGC flag with the UseG1GC flag in Windows service registry imagePath entry for the Collector service.

Before you upgrade to GD Collector 39.002, review the following information and complete the required steps to successfully upgrade your Windows Collector.

Reason for GD Collector 39.001 Upgrade Failure

LogicMonitor Collectors were migrated to use the G1GC flag in GD Collector 30.000 and later. However, due to a bug, some Windows Collectors still had ConcMarkSweepGC (deprecated in JAVA v21) in the ImagePath and failed to start after upgrading to GD Collector 39.001.

Note: This issue is not applicable to Linux Collectors.

GD Collector 39.002 Upgrade for Windows Collectors under Local Admin or Local System Account

GD Collector 39.002 includes a fix that removes the deprecated UseConcMarkSweepGC flag and writes the UseG1GC flag during the upgrade process. As a result, you can upgrade without any additional steps.

GD Collector 39.002 Upgrade for Windows Collectors under Non-admin Account

To determine whether your Windows Collector uses the deprecated UseConcMarkSweepGC flag, verify the imagePath of Collector services under Services.msc. To do so, perform the following steps:

  1. On your Windows Collector machine, select Start and enter Services.msc.
  2. Locate and double-click LogicMonitor Collector.
Logicmonitor Collector Properties (Local Computer) dialog box displays.
  3. In the General tab, verify if the UseConcMarkSweepGC flag is present in Path to executable.

Alternatively, run the following PowerShell commands as administrator and verify the output (ImagePath):

(Get-CimInstance Win32_Service -Filter "Name='logicmonitor-agent'").PathName
(Get-CimInstance Win32_Service -Filter "Name='logicmonitor-watchdog'").PathName
  • If the output does not contain the UseConcMarkSweepGC flag, you can upgrade to GD Collector 39.002 normally.
  • If the output contains the UseConcMarkSweepGC flag, you must first reinstall Windows Collector using the same or a new agent ID. Back-up customised configuration files (if any) before reinstalling Collectors. For more information, see Reinstalling Collectors.

After reinstallation, upgrade your Collectors to GD Collector 39.002 when released to production.
